Battery backup systems are integral to the uninterrupted operation of factories, warehouses, schools, hospitals and many other types of buildings, where discontinuation of power, even for a short period of time, could have dire consequences. In most industrial and commercial buildings, large banks of batteries are kept on standby to provide fail-safe service when main power fails. It is recommended that batteries be replaced every 3-5 years, long before they run the risk of failure. UPS service companies provide routine maintenance, as well as assess the health of a battery backup system and coordinate system replacement parts.

Junkbat assists Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) maintenance and repair companies with the responsible disposal of scrap batteries. UPS service companies must be able to provide their customers peace of mind, that batteries removed from their systems will reach end of life at an EPA certified smelter. We offer certificates of recycling (aka death certificate, proof of disposal) upon request.

It is not always practical for our customers to remove scrap batteries from completed job sites themselves. Some systems contain strings of hundreds or more batteries, which can amount to many thousands of pounds of UPS batteries and can exceed the cargo capacity of many vehicles. In addition, transportation of lead-acid batteries requires additional licensing and paperwork. Our services include travel to job sites across the state (see service area map), where we work with site contacts to remove scrap batteries out of battery rooms and into the truck so that they may be safely palatalized, secured and transported to our warehouse. Additionally, we can transport new batteries, cabinets and other materials to job sites for companies. Unlike many common carriers, we factor transportation into the overall cost of service provided. We save on freight by running consolidated routes and using vehicles sized appropriately for the job(s).

Turnaround time for pick-ups range from same day to up to 3 business days maximum. Our phones are always on and we try and return calls and emails as quickly as possible. We know our customers value punctuality. It is very frustrating to set aside time out of your day for a truck that is running late or doesn't show up. While delays do rarely happen, we communicate with our customers every step of the way. Junkbat offers competitive pricing and payment is issued either same day, or 1-3 business days for ACH and certified checks.

If you have a UPS setup at your company or are offering UPS services, contact Junkbat to see how we can work with you to professionally assist you with your battery recycling.
